Cheers to the freakin’ weekend.

One thing is for sure, managing your weight loss agenda or attempting a new health routine is hard enough as it is, without trying to manage drinking and some semblance of a social life in there as well. I have to say – for the most part I haven’t been able to find a balance for both – it just so happened that events outside of my control meant I haven’t been so available socially in the past few months. Whoever I speak to, managing their alcohol intake is one of the most daunting aspects of making a big lifestyle change.

I am lucky in the sense that I’ve never been a ‘big drinker’. I mean, I will binge drink a bottle of vodka with the best of them, but I’ve never been the girl that needs a wine or two at the end of the day. If that is you, cutting the alcohol is going to be tough!

So, whilst happily I will get my spirits on, this adventure has been about finding things I can actually drink – because mixes are the enemy – and a girl can only handle so much vodka, lime and soda.

In anticipation for another impending weekend (that really cannot come fast enough) here is my current go-to for you to enjoy your vodka.

Nudie ‘Nothing but oranges’ juice is available with or without pulp from your local supermarket. This little gem is what it promises to be, with no sugar, preservatives or other additives.

Screwdrivers for everyone! When the juice gets a bit much it is nice watered down with some soda water, this will also cut down on your calorie intake if this is one of your key considerations. Flavored vodkas have also been a good change up – thank you birthday sampler packs!
