Snacking is hard. I mean – it’s actually really easy – but when you’re trying to be good, and you can’t really ‘shop out’ – it’s hard. Step one is finding something on your ‘allowed list’ and step two is being organised enough to have access to it when you need it.
I’ve never been big on snacking – I think it has been a symptom of my work environment. I don’t really stop to take a break and that includes eating throughout the day. However, when done right snacking can good for you.
First thing is first – snacking is optional. If you’re hungry – your body wants food – feed it. If you’re not hungry, don’t eat. Secondly, I’m still not great at snacking throughout the day. However, whether your goal is healthy eating or weight-loss, the key is to be organised. If you’re out and hungry – you’ll probably eat something you shouldn’t. Or (from experience) you will wait until you are so hungry you also over eat.
So allow me to introduce you to these sweet little babies I discovered online.

Harvest Box are an Australian made and owned brand, and their Health Bombs are amazing. They are all natural with no preservatives or other rubbish in sight. These 40g packs have about 20 bite sized treats and will also give you your sweet fix. I would normally split a pack into two serves.
Unlike most things that I have needed to make from scratch, this is one product I can still enjoy not only for the pre-packaged convenience, but still pretty much guilt free as their packing suggests. I keep a pack in the car, at work, in my handbag – anywhere I have the potential to get caught out and need a snackeroo. There are a few flavours to choose from, but my favorites are definitely the Goji and Berry. The Harvest Box brand has a whole plethora of options (all outlined on their website) including a chia bar which is OK – but not as enjoyable as the Health Bombs and definitely won’t give you the same sweet fix.
You can buy these individually at Coles or Target – but I’m too cheap for that and buy in bulk online. For the last 6 months I have been able to buy boxes on Catch of the Day for about $18, and if you’re going to eat them buying in bulk can justify the postage – just be careful to check use by and best before dates for anything you’re purchasing. A Google search will generally still give you some cheaper buying options as well.
Hopefully this is a little something to make your life easier. And if curious – no, I am not in any way aligned or compensated by the Harvest Box brand. These treats have been part of my journey and maybe they can help you.
That’s it! Enjoy!
